Interesting '05 female thayeri...

mexicanamak Apr 02, 2006 05:48 PM

The split saddles on this female really caught my attention when I first saw her. This female is from the same bloodline as the male posted below. You can see similar things happening with the pattern on this female, just not to the extreme as in that male. It appears as though when the saddles split wide open on these guys, instead of forming individual uniform and narrow saddles as I see in most split-saddled examples, the markings do all sorts of wild and interesting things. Such as the swirl-shaped markings you see in the male that carry the saddle colors, and the saddle center color that washes out over the ground color without any border. Look at this female and look back down a few posts at the male.

Really cool thayeri!

Mike

These little beauties look an awful lot like some Dan V. has produced over the years. Are they from his lineage Mike?

Fantastic looking split/ghosted/leapord/keyholed/whatever, but definately KEWL looking thayeri!

I honestly couldn't tell you if these tie in with Dan's animals Chris, certainly a possibility I agree. We can call these Whateveryawannacallem Phase, it all works for me.

Side note... I was sittin' here about a half hour ago typing this and had to shut down and run for cover... tornados skippin' around out here tonight. I'm learning to hate Central Illinois.

Mike, I like that look. Kind of makes me dizzy. I can see this girl taking off from a predator and confusing it for a split second. Enough time to get way. mike

Makes a lot of sense Mike, when she takes off running she's just a blur. It will be interesting for sure to see what these two can produce although it's unlikely that I will put these two together more than once, that is unless something really exciting happens. You never know. Neat stuff!

Mike:

That's a terrific-looking snake. Hope you can produce more like her!

Thanks Bob, I appreciate that and I think I have a pretty good chance of being able to reproduce something very much like her if I pair her up with a very special male I have from Dan (not the one pictured below). This male of Dan's has some of the most beautiful and perfect wide open split saddles with vague but similar things beginning to happen with his pattern. I'll have to post a few shots of that guy sometime, he really is one very special thayeri. It will be a challenge trying to capture his true colors though, incredible amount of depth to his coloration.

The offspring from that pair should be very interesting!

Cheers,

Mike
