Looking for wisdom from Gecko-Masters...

redoaksblues Apr 02, 2006 08:45 PM

Hello, I am the newbie with the new gecko....and I cannot get a straight answer on exactly how much to feed my girl (Gabera - Gabby for short). She is finally eating (took four days after arrival) but I have put in 5 0.5 inch crickets in and they are gone...same tonight..all gone..can you overfeed? How many do they eat...she was born in last October......

Thank you again...

Let her eat as many crickets as she will in a 15-30 min. time period. It is rare that a Leo will overeat, they stop when they are full. I feed all mine a combination of crickets, superworms, silkworms and roaches. So, I only feed a few crickets a night & leave some worms (supers or silks) or roaches in a bowl for them to eat as they please. I do leave a small piece of carrot in each of the enclosures just in case a cricket or 2 don't get eaten. That helps keep the crickets from chewing on your Leo
