feeding/substrate

lucky08 Apr 03, 2006 01:29 AM

Well I'll be getting a pair of sulcatas soon, and have a few questions. First, what kind of substrate should I use? straw/hay? if so, what kind? Also, I want to have a place in their enclosure where they can burrow, what should I use for substrate in this area? Another question, what do you guys feed your tortoises for their main diet? Also, if I went to a local Feed & Tac store, is there anything I could pick up from there in bulk to use as substrate or food?
Thank You,
-Colin

Use Timothy hay...it works fine. I like to use coconut bark that has dried out for their digging pleasure. Not sure on the bulk ideas but I am sure someone has an idea ans will chime in. Good luck!
