This is a two-year project hopefully coming to fruition. As you can see, all signs look good so far. The second female in the trio will be shedding this week, then it'll be her turn!!

Wow. Nice. You don't see those guys too often. They look beautiful. Are your adults captive born? Good luck and keep us posted.

I have 1.1 long-term captives from the Ritas and another cb female (the one in the pic). It's actually a funny story. I was given the cb snake by a friend who bought it as a male from a pet shop. I thought it was a male until I put what I thought were my two males together while cleaning cages the other day. Within 60 seconds I took the attached photo. Needless to say it was a pleasant surprise. It also explains why I didn't get a clutch last year. They were both GIRLS!!!!!

Those are amazing.
I've been thinking about getting a pair for years, but keep convincing myself out of it. Are they as flighty as i've heard?

Shaky
I have a captive born pair that are not flighty at all.
When handled they sway the fore part of their bodies like a vine blowing in the wind.
My female is going into her first shed of the year and hopefully I will have some breeding photos within a week or two.
Great snakes!!
Mike

That's good news.
Alan Kardon, of the San antonio zoo has been breeding them for years, and says that their nature is to be skittish. His are very nice, but I'd almost rather sacrifice beauty for temperament.

Of course, I may not have to, if another breeder's a re just as nice.

One of my females is very flighty, but will never bite. The other two are really mellow. I love working with them.

Congrats!
Nice photo too!
Good luck.
