silkworm eggs cont.

schwartzenstobe Apr 03, 2006 10:02 AM

Hey everybody thanks for the replies the other day, However I covered the eggs and used a moist paper towel for humidity and placed the tupperware on top of my cham cage or on top of his uv light fixture. This morning I noticed They are starting to turn whitish. Is this normal? Is this normal? I have hatched eggs 2 other times and I dont remember this much of a problem. Thanks Matt

the pt should be BARELY moist, rung out very good. Really just damp. Take the top off from time to time and make sure this is not mold!

Also look for the silkies! They are black, thus making the translucent eggshell look gray. Once they leave the egg the shell casing is just the cream/white color. Look at Feenie's pic again and you can see the empty shell.
