2004 Male Amarali

tcdrover Apr 03, 2006 02:07 PM

Here's my male 2004 Silverback. I'm going to try and get some
better pics using my tripod this week.

This guy is soo mellow, I was a little hesitant to get into amarali after reading some horror stories, but the two I've got
are total sweathearts. They kind of remind me of Dumerils
because they're so strong & slow growing...

He is great looking! Amarali's are by far my favorite boa. Where did you get him? Here is a pic of my male.

Thanks, your boy looks good too. They're probably not too
distantly related.

I got him from Cagle. They are my favorite boas by far. I love
that they're such strong, thick bodied snakes. Their skin is
smoother than regular BCI & BCC which is cool as well.

I'm not sure if they will be better kept as adults in 4 foot
Visions or the 5 foot model. What do you think?

I have mine in a boaphile 421D (48x24x12) and he has plenty of room in my opinion. He's about 5 and a half feet to 6 feet give or take and still has enough room to maneuver. The 4' and 5' visions would have enough room, the only I don't like about them is they have a "lip" at the top of the cage above the glass doors on the inside, I've had a few of my snakes climb up there and I spent hours seaching the house for them because I thought they escaped. Not to mention I've had them fall off of there too, either way I don't think you can go wrong as long as everything is maintained. Good luck!
