Question about pricing

FloridaHogs Apr 03, 2006 06:11 PM

Just wondering if $149 is overpriced for a green phased western yearling, sex unknown. A local pet store has one, which is very rare here. It is the first western I have ever seen outside of pics. So I was just curious. It seemed a little high to me.

With a husband thay is not into reptiles, no it doesn't. And not if I can find one from a reputable breeder online either. I was really just curious, more than anything else.

Don't know about pet store prices where you are but here in Richmond, VA the only normal hogs I've seen go for $90.00. But the shows have them for $40. Never seen anything other than normal here though.

Visual Morphs?....I love the normal looks. You can't improve on nature, you can only produce "interesting deviations".

Hi. I've never seen a green phase before, but I can tell you that pet stores definitely over price their animals. I get all my reptiles from reptile shows. My regular phase hognose was 60 bucks from a show, I read someone else's reply that they've gone for 40. Usually reptiles from a show are at least half of what they sell for at pet stores.

Well, this store does not even know what they have, as they are selling it as a normal. Doesn't really matter though with that pricing.
