Does anyone know the easiest way to hook these up and where to get the connections? I don't know anything about modifying electronics and I don't want to fry myself or the frogs. Thanks for any help!

I remember some discussions on this forum a couple of years back about setting up computer fans. I think they were pretty thorough. You can use the search engine to find them if no one currently here can answer the question. Go back to 2003 in the archives, and you'll find some listings under both arrow frogs and cages and terrariums. I've never used them, so can't help first hand or I would.

Patty,
Yeah I remember those posts and they were really informative. Unfortunately I didn't know what they were talking about as far as converting the fans. I don't have much technical knowledge when it comes to electricity. I think I'll probably just drill some more holes in the top of the tank to provide more ventilation. I've got 2 now but don't think that's enough. I've seen a lot of pics with condensation but didn't think that the tanks got that bad. Do you have a lot of condensation on the glass of you're tanks?
Thanks,
Russ
I do generally have a lot of condensation, especially in the mornings when the outside room temperatures are cooler than the tanks. I just wipe it off when I want to see in better. This also works as a reminder to clean off the glass regularly with a paper towel. With constant condensation, you will get a lot of algae on the glass. The condensation indicates adequate humidity, although this also has to do with dew temperatures and the difference between inside and outside temperatures, so isn't an accurate humidity gauge. If it's present however, the humidity is fine. Darts in general, don't care if the glass is fogged up, or even has algae growing on it, and need only very minor ventilation in a planted tank, as long as it's not too hot. The ventilation is for looks and for any plants that might not like being totally saturated with 100% humidity all of the time.

A lot of case fans are plug n play basically. It has a lot to do with what its for and who makes it. There are both AC and DC versions.
What kind do you have?
Where are you located?

I don't think you will fry the frogs but I don't doubt you might get bit! LOL

Thanks for the info Patty. I drilled a few more holes and that seemed to do the trick. I still have humidity on glass, just not as bad. Hello Bighurt, I didn't actually buy the computer fan yet because I didn't get a lot of help at the store. I read a thread on here about using them but had no idea how to set them up. I may for other tanks, though. I live in Omaha, NE where there are tons of electronic stores. I'm sure if I searched around enough I could find what I'm looking for but not too worried right now. I won't be starting a new tank for a little while. Thanks for the help, though!
