If I use a reptisun 5.0 plugged into a reostat will it effect the uvb output? I'm only asking cause I didn't want to use two timers so I could plug in my heat malp and reptisun to the reostat which is plugged into a timer

You can't use a reostat with any standard fluorescent light ballast. It either won't light or your will shorten the life of the ballast by running it at low voltage - which causes excessive current - which causes overheating. There are special dimmer balasts, but I'm not sure why you'd want to use them on your reptiglo 5.0? I would plug a splitter into the timer and then plug your rheostat into one plugin and your fluorescent lamp into the other
