Leopard sniffles

hunterjackson Apr 03, 2006 10:02 PM

I have noticed my leopard to be a bit sniffly as of late. I have upped his temps to on the cooler side around 85, and the warmer side around 90 during the day, to nightly 85(this is where he sleeps) and room temp on the other side.

Also, started to soak him more. I noticed the faintest bit of wetness at his nostrils.

Should i go to the vet for a couple shots of Claphoran, or ride it out? i hate to get antibiotics when not needed (not because of the money, but because they may be needed down the road, and the fact that i am putting a foreign chemical in its body).

Is there anything else i should do? He has a MVB and CHE on him durin ght day, and a CHE on him at night. He is about 3.5 inches long, 213 grams. Eating decently, not as well as last week, but will eat his favorite foods (especially dandelion and clover)

Thanks,
Hunter

Just make sure he's outta drafts (a well ventilated covered habitat is smart, I use several paper towels to cover openings) and dry him after soaks to prevent chills from evaporation.

Still no improvement...and some eye crusties...so he's going to the vet. Also, im wondering if his shell is a bit squishy. It gives when i squeeze on it, but just a little bit. Not much, just a bit. He gets all the good stuff, hay, clover, plantain, mazuri, calcium...you name it.
