After she's laid eggs

egdinatale Apr 04, 2006 07:54 AM

Ok, so my veiled just laid eggs for the first time in the soil in the pot that her plant is in. Do I need to take the eggs out? Won't they rot? They're not fertilized, so there'll be no hatching. Also, she's very skinny now, I know thats normal, but should I feed her more than I usually do to fill her out again?
Thanks for any info.

What I do with my veiled females after they lay eggs is make sure they get lost of water and feed them well (extra) for a few days to try to build them back up....egg laying takes a lot out of them. I then cut the food back so that they won't produce large clutches. Once a female is definitely working on another batch of eggs, if they are to be infertile I increase the food a little and if they are to be fertile I increase it even more.

I always remove the eggs....so I can't tell you if its really necessary or not.
