This one looks alot more like a red to me?
it was sold to me as a red western. thoughts.

Doesn't look like a red. It looks more like your typical brown color which tends to have a reddish look. Some browns look more reddish brown than others. What I like is the orange belly scales. This is typical of the reddish brown. If it were a red, I would expect to see much more orange on the belly, throat, etc.
If your going to try to produce reds, I would put that one into that project.
