Tang. Albino Hondo breeding PIC and a ?

Joel R May 19, 2003 01:53 PM

My Albinos locked up the other day & I got a quick pic.

I also put him in with my anery female a few weeks ago. Anyway, she laid 9 eggs the other day but they are all yellow. They are all big & full and I can see veins in them.
So, my question is, can there still be veins in the eggs if they are not fertile?
I know yellow eggs are a bad sign but I wouldn't think they would have any veins in them if they werent fertile.
Please let me know.
Thanks.
Joel R

If you candled these eggs and saw veins, then they are fertile. Just because they are yellow does not mean they are infertile or bad. Don't throw them out, just incubate them anyway. I've seen some pretty ugly eggs turn out some really pretty babies.

Joel,

I have a Pueblan milk that lays "seriously yellow" eggs every year - and they're always good. Good luck with your Honduran projects.

Well they are filling in quite nicely with veins. This is my first snake clutch but I have a ton of Bearded dragon eggs and these hondo eggs are filling in so quickly compared to the dragons, I can't believe it. It would take about 3wks to see as many veins in a dragon egg as I can see in these at just under a week. I can't wait for my Tangerine albino female to lay. This is going to be a cool summer.

Later.
Joel
