How long do Mazuri tortoise diet last in a bag stored??

I don't buy Mazuri tortoise diet but I do buy Mazuri rodent diet by the 50 lb bag. I bought a Sterilite brand 10 gallon plastic storage box for 5 bucks, that box holds an entire 50 lbs so I keep it fresh in the storage box. It seems to stay fresher that way than it does if I leave it in the bag for a long time.

So far I have been lucky, I've never gotten a bag that hatched out weevils but people I know who do have that problem store most of it in the freezer then thaw it out a little at a time as they need to use it.
I don't have a freezer that big so I'm hoping I won't need one.

I had a bag in a plastic box but I wont use it. I rather buy a fresh bag for them.

I'd rather have a fresh bag too. I wish I could get it in a 10 or 15lb bag. The choices I've found locally seem to be 2lb or 50lb bags. 2 isn't enough, 50 is way too much.
