I've had my young b&w kingsnake for about two weeks. He is about 18 inches. I was feeding him one pinky mouse (thawed) every five days. I fed him on Friday night. This was the second time I've ever fed him. On Monday he was very active when I got home from work. I took him out of his tank and within 10 seconds he had latched on to the side of my finger. Hey! So I detached him and put him back in his tank. He was going crazy! He was all over the place and he tried to attack his reflection or any movement that he noticed beyond his enclosure. Could he be hungry? I thawed a pinky and fed him. He was thrilled to have the food. He was still very active after I fed him, like maybe he was looking for another mouseling. I figured that one was enough since I'd fed him three days earlier. He eventually settled down and was able to be handled calmly last night and today.
So . . . should I feed him two pinkies at a time every 5-7 days OR one pinky every 3-4 days?
Also, what can I do to discourage him from attacking the glass? I don't want him to keep doing it and end up blunting his nose.
Thanks
