My black roughneck

iwantamonitor Apr 05, 2006 07:25 PM

So i was looking at my monitor today, and I noticed he hasnt been eating yet, which is understandable, because I just got him in the mail yesterday. but I also noticed that when he halfway opens his mouth in basking light, his left side of his mouth there is like some gooey saliva and the outside of his lip it looks a little soggyish. So i bought some mouthrot medicine immediatly. Will he be ok, the medicine wont come for a few days, what can I do right now to help him?

You should see a vet before giving your monitor 'medicine'. In alot of cases, medicating causes more problems than it solves. You need the vet to know whether it is one of those cases, or new keeper nervousness/meddling. We've all been there, but shotgunning meds based on a hunch is not the best husbandry practice.

See a vet.
