OT: Got in to college!....

-ryan- Apr 05, 2006 09:33 PM

I know this has nothing to do with uromastyx, and I know I haven't been around this forum much lately (been busy on the ball python forum getting the new little snakelet set up right). I figured maybe some people on here would remember who I am (I have the fat rescued uromastyx with burn scars on her...hurt her nose recently).

Anyways, I only applied for one college, and I got in! One of the best parts about it: It's 10 minutes away from home, so I get to stay here to take care of the lizards, tortoise, and snake!

It's an expensive school, but I managed to get a lot of financial aid, and some good scholarships. My music scholarship alone is $5000 a year. I applied to take the music education program to become certified as a music teacher, but I guess I did well on my audition or something, and they are enrolling me to take classes for my music education degree, and also a music performance degree. I'm a percussionist (drummer), by the way.

Fat Sam is also recovering just fine from her nose injury!

Congrats!
It’s good to hear you got in to your school. Good luck with Music, its very hard, esp. with percussion. What school are you going to be attending? I’m at FSU and did Percussion performance for three years. I’m now a Bio major though. It’s good to see that there are still some other herpin drummers out there tho. Best of wishes!

I'm going to Nazareth. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue with the music performance degree (as I don't see myself playing in an orchestra). I think I'm going to see how it goes with the double major for one semester, and then decide if I want to just focus on music education. Either way, I'll probably end up getting out of college and getting an unrelated job anyways.

Thats wonderful wish you the best with your direction in music.

Hope it goes well for you. My husband plays the guitar and still practices hours each night. I relize what a passion it is for some. And I reap the benifits of hearing it

Let us know how you do!

Best wishes Drummer Boy, LOL
