Mama with babies?

I know this is probably a silly question, but I have a newly hatched clutch of bearded dragons and I have them in a cage next to my females cage. My female is sitting with her nose pressed up against the cage and just lying there watching her babies. Is she doing this because she should be with them? Or is she probably thinking lunch? she looks depressed and just so sad.
