Holy Cow! More Eggs!

PATMAN Apr 06, 2006 06:46 AM

Monday I had one of my two box turtles hatch and Tuesday night the same mother turtle laid 3 more eggs!

I knew she had more eggs in her and have been keeping her in an enclosure with soft, moist soil and a heat lamp above for the past 2 weeks.

Here's a picture of the 3 new eggs next to a quarter. The one egg has a dent in it. I don't know if any are fertile. Last time only 2 of the 5 laid were fertile.

Wow! Happy Birthday and Happy Birthday!!

Those last pics were great! The Hatchling looks adorable.

Are these from the female with the cracked shell?

New surprises can be nice surprises!
Thanks for sharing!

Yes Ric,

The hatchling and the new eggs are all from the female with the cracked shell and that handsome male.

I will post more pictures of the hatchling this weekend. I am waiting for it's yolk sac to get absorbed more.
