Question for the Phyllomedusa keepers...

Dozer Jul 29, 2003 02:27 PM

I wanna breeed my hypos, commonly called orange sided tree frogs or tiger leg tree frogs... now, I've got a group of 3 in a 35 gallon tank with a few more frogs coming within the next month. Its planted, moss substrate, big UTH as well as a 50 watt red heat light, UVB, half the top is plexi-glass and the other is screen, I dont know sexes of the frogs. But my question is... how can i get these dudes to breed? should i move them into a smaller tank, say a 5-10 gallon or somethin'? Should I keeep the tank dry for a bit and then heavy mist it... i really dont know much aobut breeding these guys. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

Thanks,

mike

You have too much ehat for the hypos. I jsut use regular fluorescents. To breed them, your tank sounds fine. Cool them down and dry them out a few weeks then, thenn warm them up and mist heavily. Also, quarintine new frogs before palcing with other 3.
