Hello everyone,

I'm setting up my cage and getting ready to purchase my first pacman frog, (I've wanted one for some time now, and finally getting around to buying one).

Question: the local pet store has two pacman frogs for sale. It lists one of them as a "Red" Pacman frog, and the other as an "Albino" pacman frog. The thing is, I'm a bit colorblind, so neither of these pacman frogs look "red", or like previous albino's that I've seen in pet stores.

On previous visits, I've seen an albino pacman frog, and they are bright and colorful in appearance. Is there such a thing as an albino that's somewhat dull in color? And I'm just wondering if anyone's ever heard of a "red" pacman frog...or is that the store just being descriptive with the frog for sale? What's the color range for pacman frogs?!? When is it clearly an "albino" pacman, and when is it just a colorful variation?

Usually Albino frogs are a lack of all pigmentation, causing them to be Yellow and "clear" in color. I have seen some "albinos" with a smattering of red markings though.

A Red PacMan is also called a Fantasy Frog.

The usual colors for Pacman are Green, Albino, Brown & Red. Mostly you only see Green and Albino in the stores.

I found a pic of a red pacman. The one they are claiming to be a red pacman may just be the brown ones. I have seen a few in the pet stores near me. I am trying to locate one like is in the picture
