www.acreptiles.com is a great site about pythons. i have a jungle carpet and he is great with handling. feeding. i wanted a bigger snake then my corns and read alot about different snakes. i went with the jcp because its beauty for one and its a managable size for a single person. jcp's are on the slim side so even though mine is 7 foot i can handle him safely by myself.
babies are great bitters from what i read but calm down with handling and as they get bigger. the biggest thing is some will not take to rats so trying to feed a 10 foot snake can be time consuming if it will only eat mice. i feel fortunate that mine eats rats.

I love the all Carpets and the Jungles are beautiful. I have two babies Ivory Jungles I bought from Ryan Young and they are VERY gentle. I have never been struck by them and they even take RATS yes that's right RATS. They take the RATS very gentley from tongs. So gentle in fact I have to watch very carefully to see when they have taken them so I know to release.

BUY some jungles you won't be sorry. The Bredli's are very docile and Gorgeous.

Good Luck,

Jeff

Hello,

If you stop by our website there is a link on the homepage to an article we wrote for Reptiles Magazine back in '04 (the link is overlapping the image of the Jungle Carpet Python in the center of the page). The article covers just about everything you would want to know about Carpets, and includes dozens of photos. They are truly wonderful snakes. Hope you enjoy the read!

Sincerely,

how come no one's got anything to say about the greatest of all carpets, the coastal?they get bigger, maybe 9' or 10' for a big female;are super gentle as adults, for the most part;and will eat anything put into their enclosure.their color varies from brown w/ cream to dark and light greys.sure, most baby coastals are downright evil when it comes to temperment, but the blood's worth it.i had one male who i swear knew his name.if he was out of his cage on a supervised crawl,he would come to me when i called him.perfect snake, the best i have ever owned, and i've had plenty of different types.australian pythons freakin' rule!!
