question about provent-a-mite........

joshhutto Apr 07, 2006 02:08 AM

this isn't a question about mites but rather does this stuff kill spiders? It's getting hot down here in south florida and the spiders are starting to make their way indoors, lol. I'm not sure of the species but these things are huge and fast. They look similar to wolf spiders but have longer legs and I'm just freaked out by spiders, lol. I sprayed one earlier with pom and it took off running in a closet, just wondering if it is probably curled up dead or if it's gonna jump on me tomorrow when I go to put something in the closet?

Provent a mite kills mites and lice, but I'm not sure about spiders ... and I think that spider is going to jump on you tomorrow when you go into your closet

That was kinda mean!

But I was thinking the same thing! LOL

Watch out for that spider!

Cheryl

ps it's probably dead, I think I read that you shouldn't use it around arachnids.

PAM does kill spiders...it kills all arachnids. Mites and spiders are both arachnids.

Visual Morphs?....I love the normal looks. You can't improve on nature, you can only produce "interesting deviations".

I would think that Prevent-a-Mite would be a pretty expensive spider killer. Didn't you have a shoe nearby?

The big spiders aren't the scary ones. You can see them and kill them. When I was in Oklahoma City, we had brown recluse. I found one in my sneaker once. For some reason, I just stopped to shake out my shoe before putting it on. Normally, I didn't take that step. When I shook, a brown recluse fell onto the floor. He didn't live long. Another time, I turned up my collar to put on a tie. (I had to wear a tie back then.) A brown recluse was under my collar. He also died a violent death.

Instead of using some kind of spray, I think you should just get a half dozen bearded dragons. You could post one at every corner inside your house and tell them to keep the spiders away.

If these spiders are as big as you're describing them, maybe you should just get a small caliber rifle.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.
