It is amazing to me how much he resembles the mom...Now nearly as bold colors as the male flames, but he is quite stunning for the genes he is sharing.

Yeah, he looks alot like Mom (Chinook) at the same time his blue is getting more turquiosy as he heats up. I do not know if he will continue to go blue in his body or what.
I will say this his yellow is vibrant in person, Brighter than the aquaflames. I'm wondering if it( the yellow) may go orangey like KONG.

It is cool seeing how he turns out. Cool enough that like I said yesterday I let them mate again this season.

That if you were to keep multiple offspring, you would not see any consistency in color. I don't believe it is a dominant trait at all. That was the only youngin from Chinook and Kong, right?

I think it looks more like a yellowhead female. Regarding the orange color. I have only seen that color in the wild population. As you know, Chili has that orange yellow head as well and has retained it in captivity like Kong. I'm not sure that Squashy has that amount of orange, but I remember in person how nice he was for his size. So small and so colored up...amazing.

The other guy...the name slips me. I can't believe the I forgot. The one you got With Ponka and Kickapoo...his color is more lemony yellow with very little orange. The think I love about him is his radiating yellow on his back. Kong has that too, but it does not match his head like it does with the other fella. You must not post many pictures of that pitbull collared LOL..yea that was a hint!

You know what I meant, Eve...stupid.

I understand what your saying as cb do not keep the VIBRANT colors as wc's (usually) and there is also NO garentee that having colorful parents will create a colorful offspring.

I just thought I would try the pairing again and see what I get this time around, if the offspring will continue to look like Kongster or maybe look like a aquaflame male/female....

Also as far as the Kongster, to me he seems to have his OWN look now, at a younger age he looked just like Chinook, but now his face/snout is more elongated like KONG's and he is getting spotted (light blue in his dewlap). At an earlier age he had a very short snout like a yellowhead. I do not think he looks like a female yellowhead AS much as he did. IMHO

I know some may feel strongly against the cross but I wanted to see the colors/patterns that may come from it.

He's very nice. Looks to have taken on more of the yellowheads colors. Can't wait to see him mature.
