Hypopastel breeding pic ! !!!!!!!

nathan23 Apr 08, 2006 05:41 PM

I just took these a few minutes ago. I was trying to take a nap and noticed my female head bobbing and trying to mate the male that was in with her. So I decided to put One of my hypo pastel males(apollo) in with her to have a chance at showing her whos boss. So I took him out and put him on my knee outside the tank. He strted head bobbing right away and the male in the cage arm waved, so I put him in and He went to town on her right away! He is a clear nailed hypo pastel from alpha dragons, she is a zilla goldfroggy het hypo from joel roberts. Sorry for rambling Im excited! sorry about the bad pics i just grabbed the camera and took a few pics while I could.

Woo Hoo! LOL I'm sorry...I just had to say something about the "beardie porno!" In all seriousness, very cool pictures. I hope this mating results in beautiful babies for you!

Don;t know bout you, but I find it so damn funny watching my boys mate.. They get them, and their eyes go all slanted, and they bite on, and don't move like they died and went to heaven LOL... Foster will actually sit their and let the female walk right out from under him, and he's stuck in that position for a good 5 minutes afterwards with his eyes dazed LOL.

Yeah she walked all over with him hanging on. Eventually he fell off in the food bowl and just sat there for a few minutes. Just like you said matt , like he was in little beardie heaven.

And yeah he is a maximus x cloepatra baby

got any pics of yours?

peace,
nate

Not the best pic, and a little old. Yours looks bigger than mine! I need to encourage him to eat more! I've bred him to my salmon x coral Sundial female, I expect some fantastic babies!

looks good , looks like he has a lot of yellow highlights. Apollo has almost no color to him , he is solid white.

I have another one out of that clutch that has a bright head , it goes from neon orange to neon yellow. hell be bred to a female I got from mystical dragons and an unrelated female.

cant wait to see what yours looks like

heres the other male i have

this is another pic of him its old though

He guys good to see your guys working out for you. His dad is a very good breeder and that is a trait sometimes hard to find in hypopastel males. Make sure you guys hold back some males from your crosses. I know Matt has some Het Hypopastels coming up this year so maybe you can cross those to the offspring of yours.

Thanks,
Randy

Yes, as a matter a fact I will have clutches of possible hets from Allakasam x Kiaha (red-orange x hypo pastel/ orange), and also 100% hets from my Gwen X Buddy breeding (redflame-red sandfire/red orange-snow x Hypo pastel). Gwen being a holdback from my foster x candy breeding should bring some awesome color into any hypo breeding. I know I'm at least holding back a few from my first EVER hypo breeding LOL. Been keeping them for 3 seasons now, and just this year got to breeding them..Not that I haven't tried LOL. I got lucky this season with the hypos FINALLY..

I know I'll be speaking to you this season Nate. Good luck with your projects.

thanks for recommendation Randy it is appreciated. Randy anything hatching yet? any new pairings for me to keep my eye on this year?

cant wait to see what everyone produces this season!

Hey!

I probably will hold back one male, and definately one female, cant keep them all though, I have no more room! Especially if I get red dragons like I want!

The female I bred him to is really pretty, her head is pinkish orangy that can get really flourescent and her body is light tan with pink/orange and blue side bars. Her father is a salmonglow from Dragons Den and the mother is a sundial coral that is pretty much all white, but I am unsure if she is a hypopastel or not. I am really excited about this cross! I'm hoping the white of the father will further lighten up the salmon of the mother for some nice pink babies!

I dont know if I can wait 3 months!
