blood after shed?

414reptiles Apr 08, 2006 08:59 PM

i was watching one of my HUGE 05 girls shed about 20 minutes ago and it was definately interesting watching her wiggle out of her old skin...but when she got to the last few inches right around the spurs she jerked a little and the shed broke. She resumed and i figured every thing was normal but then i noticed her ball up like they tend to do when startled or stressed. I then noticed about 3 tiny spots of blood ...continued to watch her then picked her up. There was about 5-6 tiny blood spots on the paper towel she was on and a little around her spurs... Sound odd? Should I be worried or does it sound like something normal? I'm a little confused i don't see my balls shed very often and when i do i dont recall ever seeing blood.

Not sure why they do this but most of my animals do the same thing. They leave a few streaks from the vent area.I wouldnt worry about it.Terry
