Florida Box turtle (Terrapene carolina Bauri)

s-holden Jul 29, 2003 03:49 PM

I have the following questions on the Florida Box turtle (Terrapene carolina Bauri). How large do they get when they are fully grown? Also what is the approximate market price for captive bred 1-3 year olds? How rare is this box turtle and should we expect the price for them to increase in the future?

Thanks,
Steven

My adults are 6-7 inches. The price reflects the fact that they are protected in their native range florida and partial GA, therefore they are somewhat uncommon. Not only that but they live in some harsh areas. If I was you, I would definitely get pics and make sure what youre getting into, I would only pay a price like that for good looking animals. But 100 for hatchlings/yearlings seems pretty standard.
