New to Carpet Pythons

tiliquagirl Apr 09, 2006 09:33 AM

I am getting a carpet python in a couple of weeks and I'm having trouble finding infomation on them. I just have a few basic questions like what temperature should their cage be kept at? What are the best substrates? Are there any good infomation sites/forums to join? And is there anything else I should know, like diseases they're prone to getting, things I shouldn't do, substrates not to use etc.?

Most carpets are fairly hardy and easy to maintain. Check out Anthony's web site www.acreptiles.com, and view his care sheet page. It says about all you need to know, without the hassle of typing it all in here.

We have some info on our site:

Also, I highly recommend spending some time on the Morelia spilota forum on www.moreliapythons.com. You can pick up quite a bit from this site, if you haven't checked it out already. And if you have any specific questions shoot me an email, I love to talk carpets anytime!!!

Later,
