leopard geckos vs AFTs

AmyMarie Jul 29, 2003 04:05 PM

Hello everyone...i was just wondering what differences there are in caring for leos and AFTs. I have two leos right now and am tempted to buy a fat tail or two, but i would like to know if they have any special needs before i actually consider buying.
thanx for your help

I have a leo, and in a couple months I'm getting a AFT. The care is very similar, all AFT's need is a little higher humidity. They're also suppost to be alot calmer, though I guess it depends on the gecko. They can be kept on paper towels misted a few times a week with a a humid hide ect and kept around the same temps as leos. They can be fed crickets and mealworms, though i think crickets are best for them. I'm still learning about them too so maybe somebody else can expand on what I said. They dont need any special care, just make sure you get a captive bred one. Good luck,
Mac

My AFTs are a lot calmer than the leos even the babies. They don't freak out and start to run around the enclosure ba[bleep][bleep] themselves silly a[bleep]ainst the ca[bleep]e.
