minimum age and weight of male pastel

hypoboas Apr 09, 2006 05:03 PM

Hi to all here.

Does someone has some breeding data of the minimum weight and/or the age of male pastel ballpythons what have produced fertile eggs?

Some people says they can breed with 400 g. others are saying they need 700 g.

I´m probably not the only one with this question.

Please share your experiance with us.

Thank you very much in advance.

J.

I had a male pastel breed last year at 420 grams. 3 clutches of pastels were produced. This year I bred several small ball python males to females so will see on them. I believe you can breed them young but they probably make better breeders once the get above 700 grams, That is not to say the won't breed at 400 grams. I just think you will get better results with a larger male. In my Opinion its all in what you want to do with whatever morph your working with. Hope that helps. Thanks David
