Something I'm working with ...

gailt Apr 09, 2006 05:09 PM

I imported him over a year ago and I'm hoping to prove him out this season. Please bear with me while I learn to take better pictures ... I'd love to hear your opinions, thanks

They do look similar. I call him a Jaguar/Special or Special/Jaguar
He's more banded and your het Hypo looked like a blackback ... he was pretty nice. You don't have him anymore? What Hypo line was he?

Yeah - I like the pattern on yours - the picture I posted kinda has his color wiped out by the sun (so much for outdoor shooting) - but they share a similar deep coloring. And that neat little mustache. Unfortunately he came from the NERD green ghost line and I was having a hard time finding a suitable mate for him so he was sold to make room for other projects.

Do you have a belly picture of yours?

I hope he proves out!!!

Good luck!

Those pics are just with indoor daylight, I should grab a couple with flash. I love the outdoors for true color, but then it has to be at the right time of day too, and like you said, the sun can sometimes wash out the snake. I find it a real challenge to get the pictures to truly represent the animal. I never think of getting belly shots ... well except when I was taking some pics of my Yellow Bellies to show a friend. I'll grab a few and maybe one will come out well enough to post

I hear ya on the Ghost thing. Damn, I've had a pair of Butterscotch Ghosts for 6 years and the female has never become gravid. She boinks and all, she just never becomes gravid

I wish it was a female, but unfortunately it came in a male. So I'm just putting him to two females. Now if he was a she it would have been a bit more fun

I have a female that looks very similar. The main difference is that she has some faded head markings, but her color and busy pattern is similar to your male. I hope she will be large enough to go next year. I would be more surprised if your male didn't prove out, but either way he is great looking snake. Here are some pics I took of my female today.

gailt Apr 09, 2006 06:06 PM

Funny ... I didn't think of his pattern as busy, but I guess everyone has their own thoughts on pattern

I like that female of yours

Too me, yours looks similar to my pair of het Green Ghosts. I think mine, and yours, have a type of Labyrinth pattern to them. I hope to prove mine out soon.

gailt Apr 09, 2006 06:24 PM

I hope you do prove those out soon ... they are some awesome looking animals.
Best of luck with them

That is a beautiful animal,Hope everything works out with your project. It seems like everyone has something that they are proving out, I am wondering if some of the collectors over seas happen to find a remote area that they are taking from. Here is one that I am working on as well. Thanks Erick
