i bought a 2 yr old rudi not too long ago myself, and experienced, IMO, a rather extreme case of shedding problems. His ended up causing a skin infection, loss of tissue, etc. WHen I initially got him and noticed the issue, I was doing daily soakings to try and help. After 10 days of this and not noticing a change, I knew something was not right. I cut him back to every 3 or 4 days, and he started to slough off some skin. When I cut him down to once a wk, it really started coming off. At the beginning I was also running an 80-90% humidity in the cage, but have since dropped it into the 50-60% range. He's still shedding and recovering, but coming back up well. My monitor experience is still very very limited, but this is what I found worked for me. Oh and good, rough climbing material to keep him active and rubbing his skin to aid in shedding. What shedding aid are you using BTW? I was told mineral oil may help to soften old skin but have not yet tried, as he's coming around.
