ive posted on here a few times but i have a taming and tail drop question. ive had my argentine b&w tegu for about 5 weeks now he had recently shed and is eating very well. but he still tail whips when i try to pick him up.he doesnt try to bite just whip the crap outta me. ive thought about just sneaking up on him but i dont think that will help the situation much, whichs bring me to my next question do tegus dropped theyre tail very easy? your advice is appreciated

no, they don't drop their tails. for a tegu to lose it's tail it would have to be cut off or ripped off some how.

That's reassuring, I've always been a little worried about my tegus loosing a tail. Now I'm surprised how many tegus I've seen with regrown tails. If you watch Berts video it seems like a large part have regrown tails, I wonder if this is because he doesn't sell the ones with regrown tails so that's what's left.

Brandon, whether or not they have a fracture plate in their tails I'm not sure. I know they can regrow tails that have been lost(but not with the same color). But I'd be careful he doesn't hit it on any sharp objects. Steve
