Is a 3" strip of Flexwatt enough to heat a 41 qt. Sterilite container?
Or should I use two?

I use tape the same way I would a pad....is it enough area for the animal to lay on and warm itself thoroughly? If it is too small and the animal can't stretch out on it it is gonna not digest as well, and or burn itself a peice at a time.

I assume you mean the 3 inch wide tape and not a piece only 3 inches long. The 3 inch tape is fine. I cut mine the same width as the warm end of the enclosure minus 1 inch and just center it 3 inches from the end..the temps are just fine.
