Why do leopard geckos make that wierd "clucking" sound?

moonpie Jul 29, 2003 04:42 PM

I have heard my leo make this wierd, very quiet "clucking" or "clicking" sound a few times outside of his cage. What does it mean? I had a female back about 10 years ago, and she would do it sometimes as well. It has to be very quiet in the house to notice it, and he doesnt always do it (I had a tokay once that could wake the dead!). Has anyone else noticed this with their leopard geckos?

Mine do it when they are aggravated or upset - e.g. don't want to be held. My big male does it right before he gives you a bite
