R.I.P doris

a sad day for me! i woke to find my hondo "DORIS" was dead. Last week she puked up one of her pinks,didn't think anything of it, this week she ate one of the two ( never refused a meal in the past ) and in the morn she was gone, all week she seemed fine i don't know what happend, and i hope it doesn't spread ( no signs of that yet, thankfuly )-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------here is a pic to remember her by

did she have any lumps...like she had eaten a piece of bark with a meal???

no, just the one from the one pinky, and last week, after she brought one back up she seemed fine. she was agressive feeding on the first pinky yesterday,but, didn't eat the second. I can't rule out bark, but i have never had anything happen with any other snakes, my corn has bin in the same stuff for abuot 3 years( eco earth compressed coconut fiber )

Sorry about Doris. I've had the same mysterious problem also. I've been breeding many species for about 16 years and hypo Hondos have been the only problem species. I've had 3 hatchlings from different breeders eat well for several months--grow--shed--everything's normal. Then, for no apparent reason, disgorge, go off feed and die. Other hatchling species---milks & kings---housed in the same racks under identical conditions---no problems. Has anyone else out there experienced this with Hondos?
