Diamond Caiman Tooth Problem

Bobmcloughlin Apr 10, 2006 11:25 AM

Hi,
Although seemingly fat, and healthy, my Diamond Caiman has a strange dental problem. She has about 10 whole teeth in her mouth, while the rest of them are either not there, or are soft nubs. On further inspection, I realized that the soft nubby teeth can be easily removed with a light graze of a fingernail. The teeth that are intact seem fine though, and she eats good and is growing. Her diet is mainly whole rodents, and occasionally Killie fish, goldfish, and raw meats like chicken, beef, deer etc. I was wondering if this is a bigger problem then it seems, and what could be causing it, if any one has any idea what could be wrong or any other info on a similar situation could you please help me out? Thanks!
if the image does not show up than email me at bobarama13@aol.com and i will send you some.

How old is this caiman? I don't have any experience of this problem, but perhaps skull radiographs would reveal more than what is outwardly visible.
