May my collection and photography skills look like that some day.
I've saved every bit of your info on cameras, lens, etc., that I've caught on the forums thus far. Hopefully, someday soon I'll have the funds to cash in those chips and have the nice set-up you described...then, if only I could purchase the photography skills to go with it.

Wow, talk about sensory overload....that is absolutely the most incredible picture of a collection of boas that I have seen to date! I don't know what to hope more for some day - a collection as beautiful as Celia and Sean's, or the ability to take pictures as nice as Celia's.
Thanks for truly making my day,
Kevin Blumenthal

This photo as well as others that you have posted in the last few months is why I had to bring it to the attention of others. Beautiful animals and photography aside from great information is why I enjoy this forum so much. Celia / Sean and many others are a major asset to the boa community and I thank you all for that.

Celia just wondering if you have a larger desktop size of that boa group say 1024 by 768, this size would cover my screen perfect to drool over,

If you want email me it or post for all to see as well.

Thank you again.

Celia,
I can hardly get a good shot of one snake. Major congrats on such an awesome group shot.

Was that done in post processing by laying multiple pics or did you actually have that many boas in a pile? It looks like you had them all piled up... thats quite a feat! Your husband must be getting good at that.

Did you use multiple speedlights?

Amazing!

That photo was taken as is with all the snakes on a large piece of white melamine. I started with a small group of three boas and just kept adding one after another after another. Amazingly enough, they were holding still so I just kept snapping photos. So, I have all these group shots where the group just keeps growing by one boa every photo LOL!

Sean did have to do a little bit of post processing in Photoshop but the only thing he did was cut out the background because you can see the wall and the edges of the piece of melamine, etc. So he just cut out the whole group and put them on a solid white background (but they were on a white background already so it doesn't look "unnatural" like it would if he were to put it on a solid black background).

As for the speedlights - I just used the one! I love that SB800! What a great piece of equipment! I didn't use any of macro speedlights because I had to be pretty far away from the subjects to take the photo. I used my 60mm macro lens because I like how sharp that lens is.

Thanks,
Celia

Celia, that picture is darn good. How did you get all dems snakes on the same sheet of music. Take care. Ciao. Andrew Potts

It took a bit of work and lots of coaxing! That Leopard Boa was the WORST of the bunch! She is really quite pissy and I was amazed I got her to hold still that long. Shortly after I snapped that shot, she went into a fit, threw her body and knocked half my group off the melamine!

Thanks,
Celia

I can hardly get ONE snake in focus in a single picture. That's one of the best group shots I've seen. Can't wait to see your breeding results this year! Take care

Thanks for the compliment!

We have a litter due any day now and we're keeping our fingers crossed for some good odds! We'll have to see though...I might be taking some NEW group shots if we get what we hope for!!

Okay, I can breathe, now I just need to put my eyes back into my skull.

I think you are the ONLY person to be able to take that picture. I don't think ANYONE else has all those morphs, and then you go and throw them together for the BEST group shot ever.

CONGRATS on you efforts!
