Ok another request......

tsusnakeguy Apr 10, 2006 05:41 PM

I would love to see what people use as racks or cages or whatever for their collection. Not only their collection but the babies that they have and where they keep them. I am really interested to see how people store their babies before selling them and also some of the racks for babies and larger boas. Just a request, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

formerly known as the closet in the snake room

Hatchlings in the middle and a bit bigger on the sides.

Pics of making the racks:

Thank you, I got some ideas from the cage forum and went to town. Also had visited another herper and saw his closet setup. I took the idea and expanded on it so I could best utilize the space in my closet. After playing with designs that is the one I settled on, A stack of Boaphile Rhino Raxx shoebox in the middle left just enough room on either side for a pair of hand crafted melamine stacks for Sterilite 1754 tubs. I went lidded on the Sterilite racks due mainly to the angle for insertion/extraction of tubs. Also allowed me to use the ready to go melamine shelving from home depot, no edge banding required.

One thing I'd do differently if I had 20/20 foresight

Make the melamine racks slightly wider, in fact make than so wide they would just barely fit in the closet. Then I could also use the double sized tub to the 1754 (don't remember the number) sideways. Ah well, still works great.

I THINK IT LOOKS GREAT !!
I also use a room and a closet to keep my animals. My snake room is so small so I tought I use the closet also.
Great, thank you,
