Orange stripe male

rhacphantastic Apr 11, 2006 11:50 AM

Yet another pic!

By breeding together males with 'rust red' stripes to 'normal' female gargoyles, the results were a mix of babies-some with stunning red stripes, normal stripes, normal retics, rust stripes, and light orange stripes.
This particular male is one of those offspring. He has very thick black markings, with a red stripes dorsally, and orange filling in on his side stripes.

What colors/patterns are you working with? Share pics!

I began several years ago with groups of "normal" retic and stripe females bred to males with rust stripes.
I ended up with the beauties pictured above (extreme red stripe), red retics, orange stripes, rust stripes, black/white stripes, and black/white retics. Quite a grab bag!

Now I will breed these unrelated reds and oranges together and see what happens

Right now I have a black and white strip, black and white retic (very thin black marbling on white) and a reddish retic (again very thin black marbling on reddish background).

And the white stripe. These pictures (this one and the other two) are rather old, several months old in fact. One of these days will take new pictures.

Very nice!

I like the "banded" look of the retics....nice even zig zag bands across the back.

Thank you for sharing your pics!
