Getting a new water dragon

tekascooter Apr 11, 2006 01:13 PM

Hi all I am going to get a new baby on Friday. I have been doing a bunch of research online about these guys. I was wondering what kind of bedding to use. I have read a bunch of diffrent things so I was going to do astroturf on the cooler side of the tank where his pool is going to be but I don't quite know what to put on the basking side of the cage where his lamp and branch will be. I heard that you can purchase moss that is good cause you can mist it to maintain the humidity level. Any tips would help.
Thanks
Teka

you could use ashturf, but i would suggest using real moss or dirt. real moss cause the fake stuff moldy incredably easy if they poop in it or because of dead crix. do you have any more questions? i have a baby also and am in the process of making him a new tank. i have moss for the water dragon, i have experimented with other substrates for different herps and live moss is by far the easiest and it's relativly cheap too. good luck!
