My pick of pastel-hypo litter

LauraV Apr 11, 2006 04:45 PM

And boy, this was a tough call. I am in love with all the females. The males are super nice too, but I really don't need more males right now....except for maybe the pastel male CBLT, he will be a hard one to give up.

Granted, I still have one female hypo and one male pastel to shed...but, it's hard for me to think they will top this girl...

F-5
Sorry about the water, she just shed.

She is going to be one sweet pastel salmon. Have you posted any post shed pics of F1?

...but, she is the last one I am waiting on to shed...I wished she hurry up already, I'm eager to see her unwrapped. She is, however, the most aggressive of the bunch. An actual she-devil... finally, I got so upset with her, I put my glove on and kept putting my finger in her open mouth until she decided it just wasn't worth it to keep biting me non-stop. I haven't picked her up since, but at least she stopped striking for that evening. Talk about beauty and the beast.

One time she tagged me during a photo shoot. She tagged the underside of my forearm and pulled a Steve Erwin...I pulled back and she came with, she dangled from my forearm for about 30 seconds before she would let go.

You got me on this one. I think overall it might just be selective breeding. However, the male had no connected saddles, though a couple of aberrancies. The female I posted here reminds me most of the father patternwise.
I had a small litter, but from what I did have, a single baby came out CBLT. There were others that had connected saddles or partially connected saddles, or the beginnings of a laddertail, but stopped after one linkage. I wish my litter had been larger, so I could have had a better idea. It also seems, at least with my litter, that the pastels were more likely to be effected (and most were to some degree or another) by the CBLT pattern, while there was little if any of the pattern in the hypos.
It reminds me of an incomplete inheritance - I don't even know if I worded that correctly, but that is what it reminds me of.
