Here's a blast from the past! Haven't posted here in a long time.
I'm wondering about herping in south Fla in early June. Will be on Marco Island but will drive where ever.
Everglades?
CAne fields?

sorry to say but snakes are very hard to find in june, you might try golden gate, east of vanderbelt beach and south of corkscrew swamp theres alot of trash piles and swamp borders to hunt, and you'll find junk like ringnecks and racers and maybe a ratsnake but don't waste your time in cane feilds their only good in early spring, and seems all the realy wild places down there are santuary.... Mike,
thought you retired or something! Your best bet is road cruising. Walking early mornings and after rains could also be good. There are plenty of good places outside of Marcos.

herping the long drive in everglades nat'l park is definitely worth it, if you can put up with the vast # of DOR's. as time goes on, your chances of coming up on a burm increase too, although the biggest i found with my buddies was around 6'. theres a whole lot of swerving involved, as any road cruiser should be used to.

also, be ready to get pulled by park rangers. they're out most of the night, and they're required to pull over anyone swerving. also, be sure to bring long sleeved shirts and pants, headnets, etc...the mosquitoes are unbearable during the summer!

but a few hours of road cruising beginning at sunset will be sure to provide you with PLENTY of snakes!
