A Clown Comparison

wetceal Apr 11, 2006 10:01 PM

Hello,

I just wanted to share a few pictures of a couple of very different looking Clown Ball Pythons. We just recently aquired this reduced patterned female from Jim Devolder. This little girl has a KILLER reduced pattern and gorgeous, burnt orange coloration. We plan on breeding her to our original reduced patterned Clown male and can't wait to see how their babies will turn out!!

The other Clown Ball Python in the photos is a male we produced last year from a breeding between our male and a female that was on breeding loan. He is much more of a golden yellow color with a standard Clown pattern.

Thanks for looking and let me know what you think!

Thanks,
Celia

This one is my favorite of the ones I took

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.

Those look wonderful Celia. What ever happened to those 6 66%pos het clown females that Sean got from Ralph a few years back? Did any of those ever prove out? Are any of them big enough to lay yet?

Thanks for the compliment!

As for the possible Het. Clown females that we got from Ralph, none of them have been big enough to breed just yet. We're hoping that a couple of them will go for us later on this sesaon though. We'll have to wait and see!

Thanks,
Celia

Thanks Celia, I couldn't remember exactly when it was that Sean got that big bunch of them. With all those and the new ones you've been adding, you guys should produce tons of clowns over the next few years. It should be exciting to see all the variation.

Celia,
Great pics as usual. I didn't get to see the new little girl last time I was there. Thanks for posting the pics.

Here's a pic of one of my reduced pattern clowns I produced last year. The father is also extremely reduced. Its amazing what kind of variation we are seeing in clowns. Every one I produced last year looked pretty different from the others. Now we have a clutch of clown x pastel incubating. I can't wait to see what comes out of those over the next few years. Gotta love the clowns!
