Are my eggs in trouble?

bluetreefingers Apr 12, 2006 10:05 PM

i've had these in the incubator since 4-6-06.
until recently they have been getting a redish and wet look on the top... im a bit worried as it is my first time incubating eggs.
is it normal for them to look like this?

also the bottom egg has changed shape a bit since the first day i put him in, so im wondering if thats normal too.

any help is appreciated thanks.

well the red spot means its fertile however you shouldnt be able to see it like that without a flash light and they shouldnt be wet. they do also change shape but not that fast. they get bigger as the baby inside gets igger. my guess is that they might be to moist and the shell is getting really weak. i would VERY VERY carefully change the substrate to be a little less moist and put some whole in the lid. i would also just leave a small cup or saucer with water in it. this will make up for the substrate if it is to dry. that is the way i do it. only punch 2-3 holes in the egg box container. that is how i do it and have had success everytime except when the eggs werent fertile to begin with.
