Follow up to the double clutch debate

ECC Apr 12, 2006 10:13 PM

This snake (North Carolina Eastern King) laid a clutch of 100% infertile eggs on 3/29/06. She has good weight and has taken over 10 mice since then.

I put her in with a Cumberland County, NC male Eastern tonight (wild caught by Blueking).

They are copulating. For those of you unskilled in the art of telling boy from girl in adult kings - you can clearly see how much longer a male's tail is in relation to a female's tail. These snakes are connected at the vent.

Nice info and good luck with her this time! Last year my female doubel clutched without being reintroduced to the male.
