Heating frozen rodents

kiknskreem Apr 12, 2006 10:15 PM

I haven't fed frozen since my first snake was a baby, eating pinkies, used to put them in a bag and put in hot water, not my favorite thing. I'm trying to switch some of my snakes over now, what methods are people using to heat rats and other large items?

let them thaw at room temps and then warm them up in warm water. If the water is too hot, mice/rats will get pretty messy.

My snakes do just fine with room temperature rodents.

becaue it lowers the body temp of the snake in question (if the prey isnt heated). it also helps to heat the prey item in order to get an eating response from the snake.
