Hognose morphs?

louie1 Apr 13, 2006 01:58 PM

How many different types of hognose morphs are there? This what I came up with:

Western:
albino,
hypo,
pink pastel albino,
green "hypo"
lucy (not available for breeding)

Eastern:
lucy,
a few albinos that have not made it to breeding age,

Mexican:
blonde,

I think all are recessive

what else is there?
pictures of examples would be great.

Thought it would be a good discussion.

Western:
Jungle
Watermelon (h.green x h.green)
Probably a few more i can't think of off the top of my head

Eastern:
Melanistic

The blonde madagascan is not a morph but a seperate animal altogether
Madagascan Hognose – Leioheterodon Madagascarensis
Blonde Madagascan Hognose – Leioheterodon Modestus

I've never heard of Watermelon before. Do you have any pictures?

Also, I don't think that Melanistic Easterns or Jungle Westerns have been proven genetic.

He was reffering to the Blonde Mexican Hognose. Albinohognose.com has photos if you have not seen them yet.

Does anyone happen to know who is currently working with Blonde Mexican Hognoses, or the Leucistic Easterns? I wanted to pick one up this year, but haven't seen any for sale in awhile.

Here's a few new ones I am working on:
Tigers
Red Phase Normals and Albino's
Extreme Reds , Normals and Albino's

Not sure if the red's would qualify as a "morph" but they certainly do qualify as a "type" or "phase".
