Dusting crickets

Lenny Apr 13, 2006 07:32 PM

How often should I dust the crickets I feed to my frogs. I feed them 3 times a week. I have a budgetts frog, a pixie frog, an ornate horned frog and a dwarf pixie frog.

Dusting Crickets:

For a young Pacman: I would feed 2-3 crickets once every 2-3days (depending on your frogs appetite). Don't over feed, you really want to avoid impaction! Having about 50-75% of his crickets dusted. You see young Pacman frogs are growing and the need lots of supplement to gain bone mass, so it is important to frequently dust and/or gut load the circkets.

For an adult Pacman: I would dust less frequently. About only 4 dusted crickets per week. Make sure though that u do feed you crickets plain oatmeal, oranges, and some veggies 24-48 hours before giving them to your pacman. This is should be done to make the crickets healthy and nuritious for your frog. You r what u eat is true here, becuase most cickets r really unhealthy for your frog becuase they have been sitting in a pet shop eating their brothers and the cardbord egg cartons.

How r u doin with ur budgetts? I love those frogs!!! Do u have any pics?????
