noticed a few white scales look brown and dry on Cal. Kingsnake

I just purchased a 1 yr old Calafornia Kingsnake and I noticed a few (3-4) of his "white" scales on his top look a little brown and feel a little more rough compared to the rest of him. They are not raised and i don't notice any ticks or mites. The scales in question are not clusted together, they are scattered over 2-3 inches.

Over all he seems to be in good health and he's being active.
I'm a new snake owner and I would appreciate some help. I haven
't found any information regarding whai I'm seeing. I've seen pics of scale blisters and it doesn't look like thats it.

I would make sure he/she has a water bowl large enough to submerge in. Take a very damp cloth and gently rub the rough scales…they could be retained scales from his/her last shed. If the scales do not easily become loose and wipe off don’t force them. I would keep an eye on the scales as they could have mites under them…but don’t use anything on your snake for mites unless you see the lil buggers crawling around…they look like black fleas.
